What is Ramadan ?

Ramadan is the third pillar of Islam, and it is the month in which Muslims must fast from sunrise to sunset. Fasting during this holy month is compulsory for all Muslims who are healthy. Those who are unable to fast due to illness or other reasons must make up for the missed fasts within the same year. Although fasting during Ramadan is farz (compulsory) for each Muslim, they undertake it with happiness and sincerity. Fasting is an act of humility, through which Muslims offer their good deeds to Allah, the most Merciful and the most Kind. Muslims begin their fast just before Fajr (dawn) by eating a pre-dawn meal and drinking water, and they break their fast at Maghrib (sunset). During the day, no food or drink is allowed, and any improper actions that could affect the purity of a person’s soul must also be avoided. Muslims also perform five daily prayers throughout the day, along with reciting the Quran, the final book of Allah (S.W.T.) revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). After breaking the fast at sunset, the last prayer of the day, Isha, is performed in groups. In these gatherings, the majority of the community comes together to pray, with a spiritual leader guiding the prayer. This leader is someone who has memorized the entire Quran and recites it live during the prayer. These gatherings take place for all 30 days of the Holy Month. The spiritual leader completes the Quran on the 27th night of Ramadan. On this night, we celebrate the completion of the Quran by thanking Allah for all His blessings and asking for His mercy on the Day of Judgment.

What is Last Ashra ?

The last Ashra refers to the final 10 nights of Ramadan, during which Muslims seek out the blessed night when Allah’s blessings and forgiveness are most abundant. It is a time when Muslims ask for Allah’s mercy and strive to earn His forgiveness. These last 10 days are of great importance
